Former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has denied speculations that he was put under house arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
In a statement issued on Friday by his media aide, Muhammad Inuwa Ali, Kwankwaso stressed that his political enemies are bent on tarnishing his image.
The former governor, now a Senator in the National Assembly representing Kano Central senatorial district, emphasised that neither has he been invited by the EFCC nor prevented from discharging his legislative duties.
He admitted that a petition was written to the EFCC by those he described as political opponents, who he further said want to cause a rift between him and the anti-corruption agency.
