The Ondo State Government has said it has not received a bailout from the Federal Government to pay outstanding workers’ salaries.

This was made known on Friday by the state government through a statement signed by its Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade.

Akinmade disclosed that what the state has got so far it just N2.2 billion accrued to it from taxes, which was part of its June allocation from the federation account.

“Ondo State got only N2.2 billion and the local governments got N1.6 billion, bringing the state’s total package to N3.8 billion.

“Therefore, what actually came to us as a state was N2.2 billion and our salary bill in a month is N4 billion. So, that was not the bailout that the President meant. It was part of the money that should have been part of our allocation in June that was not shared,” Akinmade quoted the state’s Commissioner for Finance, Yele Ogundipe, in the statement.
