Gordon Obuah

There is anxiety in some quarters over rumours making the rounds that the former Chief Security Officer, CSO, to ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obuah, has died in the custody of the Department of State Security, DSS.

Obuah was detained after he honoured an invitation from the country’s secret police last week.

However, days after he appeared before his former employers, he is yet to be released and there are concerns over his health.

His family members and lawyer cried out that the DSS are aware of his state of health, but has denied him his medication.

In a statement issued last week, they asked the DSS to immediately release him unconditionally. They described his detention as illegal.
