N30b Loan: Abia Assembly Suspends Minority Leader

The Abia State House of Assembly has suspended one of its members, Abraham Oba. The lawmaker is in the Assembly under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, representing Aba Central.

He was reportedly asked to stay away from proceedings in the hollowed chambers because he granted a press conference on Tuesday along with other aggrieved members to speak on the N30 billion loan the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, asked for, which was later granted by the Assembly.

Oba kicked against the approval of the loan by the Speaker, Martins Azubuike, claiming he (Speaker) deceived members of APGA into approving the loan.

His outburst may have irked the wrath of other members of the Assembly, who support Okezie’s request.
