Reports reaching Aproko247 confirms that the Nigerian Senate has begun the screening of the recently appointed Service Chiefs by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Few days ago, the President wrote the upper chamber of the National Assembly, requesting the confirmation of the Service Chiefs in accordance with the law.
The lawmakers are presently in a closed-door meeting with the officers, drilling them on how they intend to tackle the security situations in the country.
The Service Chiefs are; Major-General Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin – Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General T.Y. Buratai – Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas – Chief of Naval Staff; Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar – Chief of Air Staff; Air Vice Marshal Monday Riku Morgan – Chief of Defence Intelligence and Major-General Babagana Monguno (rtd.) – National Security Adviser.
