The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ekiti State has expelled its Secretary, Dr Tope Aluko and three other members of the State Working Committee over alleged anti-party activities.
In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by the State Chairman, Idowu Faleye and the outgoing Organising Secretary, Lateef Agbaje, the SEC affirmed its support and recognition of Faleye as the state chairman as confirmed by the National Working Committee of the party.
The three other party chieftains in the state expelled are Tunde Olatunde (Vice-Chairman, North), Mrs Busola Oyebode (Women Leader) and Tunji Olanrewaju (Assistant Secretary).
The expulsion of the officers followed the adoption by the State Executive Committee of the recommendations by the Disciplinary Committee set up by the party to probe the allegations levelled against them.
The party lauded the state governor, Ayo Fayose, for his leadership qualities and his efforts at moving the party forward both at state and national levels.
Meanwhile, Bola Olu-Ojo was appointed as the Special Adviser to the State Chairman on Party Matters.
The SEC also ratified the nomination and appointment of some members of the SWC which included Faleye, Nelson Shaba (Deputy Chairman), Adejorin Temitope (State Secretary), Gbeyiro Sunday (Vice Chairman, North), Afolabi Yemisi Gloria (Women Leader), Jackson Adebayo (Publicity Secretary) among others.
