Pandemonium At Ooni’s Burial

Ooni-and-Ogiyan

A minor trouble was recorded at the burial ceremony for the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, on Friday in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Trouble started when protocol officers attached to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, clashed with organisers of the Inter-Religious Farewell Service in honour of the late first class monarch over allocation of tables to dignitaries.

One of the VP’s aides had picked a front roll table for his boss, which the organisers had kept for the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, and other officials in the state.

The organisers kicked against this and a heated argument ensued. It took the prompt intervention of some elders to bring the situation under control. The table was later left for the governor.
