The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has condoled with the government and people of Borno State over the death of their deputy governor, Zannah Umar Mustapha, on Saturday morning in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
In a statement issued on Saturday night in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, disclosed that the opposition party was “shocked by the sudden death of the deputy governor.”
“The PDP commiserated with Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima, the Mustapha family, the people of Borno state and the All Progressives Congress, APC, family for the loss, while praying God to grant the departed eternal rest,” the statement said.
Mustapha died at a guest room in the Government House in Yola. He was said to have travelled to the state to represent Borno State government at a function there on Saturday. He reportedly died of cardiac arrest.
