Many chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were absent at the presentation of three books written in honour of immediate past governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola. The occasion was held in Lagos on Tuesday, August 18, 2015.
Some of the top members of the APC many would have expected to grace the occasion were not at the event. This is in a sharp contrast to what happened in a similar function held few months ago for former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi in Lagos.
The Amaechi’s book launch was then attended by Tinubu, Governors ), Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Samuel Lalong (PlateauJohn Odigie-Oyegun, Bisi Akande, Kayode Fayemi and many others.
Though the national leader of APC, Ahmed Tinubu, was not physically present at the launch, he however sent Prof Tunde Samuel to represent him.
Fashola’s two former deputies while in office, Sarah Sosan and Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, were not also at the event.
The books; ‘In Bold Print’, ‘The Lagos Blowdown’ and ‘The Great Leap’ were authored by Fashola’s media aide, Hakeem Bello; and Dapo Adeniyi.
