The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspect who specialises in carrying out robbery activities with his gang in traffic gridlock in the state.
The suspect was among some hoodlums who capitalise on traffic gridlock to dispose their victims of their valuables.
It was learnt that some police officers from Iponri Division in Lagos engaged the gang on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at about 8:30 pm along Eko Bridge by Ijora in gunfire. One of the suspects, male person of no fixed address, was arrested after sustaining gunshot injury to his left leg while other gang members fled the scene with bullet wounds.
It was gathered that the arrested suspect was taken to hospital for treatment, while efforts are on-going to apprehend other fleeing gang members as well as other hoodlums engaged in such nefarious act.
The police have urged members of the public and health officers to report anyone seen with gunshot wounds.
