You Can Probe Amaechi—Court Tells Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike has received the nod of Rivers State High Court to investigate the immediate past government of Rotimi Amaechi.

Justice Simeon Amadi, on Thursday, dismissed the suit filed by Amaechi challenging the Justice Odedeji-led Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by Wike to probe the sale of state assets by the past administration.

The court held that the governor is backed by law to look into previous actions of government.

Amaechi ran to court to kick against the panel, stating that the 30-day timeline the sitting will deny him fair hearing.

But Justice Amadi ruled that the time frame is not sacrosanct, hence it could be extended.
