Security operatives in Lagos have apprehended a suspected member of the Boko Haram sect.
The suspect, identified as Abdullahi Adamu, was nabbed by men attached to Operation Mesa (OP Mesa) in Ijora area of the state after a tip-off by residents of the area.
It was said that the security personnel, comprising soldiers and the Department of State Security, DSS, raided Ijora 7-Up area of Lagos and arrested the suspect, who was said to be part of a terror syndicate allegedly co-ordinated by Iranians.
According to the operatives, items suspected to be explosive devices concealed in boxes were seized from Adamu as well as guns.
“We have been calling on the state government to do something about this. This is the second time we will arrest Boko Haram suspects in this community and nothing has been done on that. The one we caught now had even admitted that he is a terrorist. You know that majority of the northerners in Lagos live in Ijora, Agege and Badia,” the paramount ruler of Ijora community, Oba Fatai Ojora said.
