President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, to safely rescue the abducted former Secretary to the Federal Government, Olu Falae.
Buhari made this order after he was briefed on the kidnap of the Afenifere leader at his home in Akure, Ondo State on Monday. Falae was said to have been kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen, who have asked for N100m ransom for his release.
According to a statement on Wednesday by the President’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, Buhari condemned the act, describing it as “callous.”
Buhari assured Falae’s family, friends and other concerned Nigerians that the Federal Government would do all within its powers to ensure his swift release.
