Plateau CP Bans Bags, Bottles At Prayer Grounds During Sallah

Muslim faithful in Plateau State have been warned to keep their bags and other items like bottles and cans at home when going to mosques and prayer grounds during the Sallah festive period.

This order was given by the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Nasiru D. Oki, who said this became necessary to prevent any possible attack in the state during the period, stressing that anyone caught with the aforementioned items would be prevented from entering the prayer grounds.

Oki, while briefing newsmen at the Police Command headquarters in Jos, expressed his men’s readiness to provide adequate security to residents of the state during the Eid-el Kabir celebration.

The police chief said, “We will do everything within the ambit of the law to ensure that insurgents did not take advantage of the celebration to perpetrate their heinous act.”

He further warned car owners to pack their cars 300 meters away from prayer grounds.

The Commissioner urged Muslim leaders to caution their followers from assaulting people during the celebration, especially when returning from the place of worship.
