On Thursday, embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki, got a treatment he may never have imagined to get in his hometown in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, where he was once governed for eight years.
Saraki was in Ilorin for the Sallah celebration, but when he went to the Muslim prayer ground in the morning as required, he was stoned with sachet water and pellets by angry youths and workers, who shouted ‘thief, thief’ several times. He was whisked away by security officials.
It would be recalled that there have been attempts to deny this incident, but a video was posted online via YouTube to confirm that the incident actually happened.
