Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Adamu Mu’azu and some prominent Nigerians had a close shave with death in the Thursday’s stampede in Saudi Arabia, which left over 700 pilgrims dead.
According to The Nation, former Special Adviser on National Assembly, Kashim Imam and former National Chairman of the defunct CPC, Senator Rufai Hanga, were among the personalities close to the scene that narrowly escaped death in the Mecca tragedy.
Also close to the scene were the PDP Youth Leader, Abdullahi Maibarisa; Deputy Comptroller General (Operations) of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede; and a former member of the House of Representatives.
The pilgrims had joined millions of others in the ritual stoning of the devil when the stampede started. But despite the sad incident, the stoning went ahead.
