Not less than 15 persons were killed in Friday night’s multiple bomb explosions in two separate areas of Abuja, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, says.
The agency further said about 41 people were also injured in the unfortunate incident, which has been condemned by many Nigerians.
Last night, suspected Boko Haram members detonated explosive devices at Kuje and Nyaya. It was the second time a similar incident is happening at Nyaya, a suburb of Abuja.
Information Officer of NEMA, Sani Datti said, “Following a coordinated rescue operation at scene of multiple explosions in both Nyaya and Kuje, which are satellite towns of Federal Capital Territory Abuja, so far 15 persons lost their lives and 41 injured were evacuated to Nyaya, Asokoro General hospitals and National Hospital Abuja.”
He further said, “In Nyaya, two deaths were recorded while 21 injured. Kuje 13 persons lost their lives and 20 injured.”
