Under-pressure manager of Sunderland Football Club of England, Dick Advocaat, has left the club as the head coach.
Sunderland confirmed the exit of the Dutch manager on Sunday “with immediate effect.”
“Sunderland can confirm that Dick Advocaat has left his position as head coach with immediate effect,” the club said on Sunday afternoon.
Advocaat’s side threw away a two-goal lead on Saturday against West Ham to finish the match 2-2.
He has been under pressure since the beginning of the season with his side struggling to win games in the EPL.
Speaking on his exit from the club, Advocaat said, “I feel it is the right time to do this; not for me, but for the club.”
He thanked the “Chairman (of Sunderland) for understanding my feelings and I remain on good terms with everyone at the club.”
