President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Issa Hayatou, has been named the new leader of FIFA.
However, Hayatou will occupy the exalted position in an acting capacity.
Sepp Blatter was suspended from office after the world football governing body told the Swiss that he has been “relieved of his duties” due to his 90-day suspension from FIFA.
The FIFA ethics committee disclosed that Blatter was removed from office because he is under criminal investigation by Swiss prosecutors.
The 69-year-old Cameroonian took over the position being the most senior vice president of FIFA.
