Tears flowed freely on Friday when the remains of Olayinka Olakunle Mamowora, fondly called Momok was finally laid to rest at his residence in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
Several members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, from Lagos State were at the burial today. They were also there to pay last respect to their staunch member.
During his lifetime, Mamok was a very close ally to the Lagos State Treasurer of the transport union, Musiliu Akinsanya, otherwise known as MC Oluomo.
Mamok was gruesomely murdered last Wednesday by those suspected to be loyalists to the late Esi Oluwo, who was also gruesomely killed earlier in the year, just before the general elections.
MC Oluomo, at the scene of Mamok’s murder last week, reportedly urged his aggrieved members not to take laws into their hands, but allow the police to fish out the perpetrators. He however allegedly said he knows those behind the act.
Mamok was killed at a barbing salon and dragged out and dumped on his car parked outside the shop in Oshodi.
