Former Nigeria’s President, Olusegun Obasanjo, was reportedly involved in a motor accident on Saturday afternoon along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
According to reports, OBJ, as the former Head of State is fondly called, was on his way to Lagos to attend a church service to celebrate the 80th birthday of pool magnate, Sir Kesington Adebutu, popularly called Baba Ijebu.
Obasanjo was said to have hurriedly left Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, where a church programme was held in honour of his late wife, Mrs Stella Obasanjo, who died exactly a decade ago in Spain.
A rear tyre of his vehicle reportedly burst on motion few metres away from the Sagamu-interchange, and he alighted from the SUV to join another one in his convoy, and headed straight to Adebutu’s church service.
He was said to have later travelled abroad after leaving the function in Lagos.
