The Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, has suspended the trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, over allegation of false declaration of assets.
This followed a ruling by a Supreme Court suspending the trial by the Tribunal pending the determination of the appeal filed by the number three man.
Public Relations Officer of the CCT, Ibraheem Alhassan, disclosed on Monday in Abuja that the decision to halt the trial was to respect the Supreme Court.
“The case was slated for hearing on November 23, but as a mark of respect for the apex court, the tribunal decided to tarry a while pending the determination of Saraki’s appeal challenging the jurisdiction of the tribunal to try him,” he said.
