Confusion In Kogi Over Audu’s Resurrection Tale

Uncertainty has rented the air in Kogi State over rumour that the former governor of the state, Prince Audu Abubakar, has risen after he was announced dead on Sunday night.

Abubakar, who participated in the Saturday governorship election in Kogi State as candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was said to have breathed his last shortly after the poll was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday night.

According to reports emanating from the state, there is a rumour spreading like wild fire that some spiritualists have embarked on a marathon prayer session to bring the man back to life.

Earlier in the morning, sympathisers thronged the home of the former governor in preparation for his burial rites on Monday.

But we gathered that some spiritualists promised to make efforts to revive the late Abubakar, which forced the grave diggers to slow down their work. It was said that the shout of Holy Ghost fire and Allahu Akbar have rented the air, while the mammoth crowd wait in anxiety.

There were tales that the man had started breathing and that he has resurrected. However, we cannot authoritatively confirm this.
