Son of late candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the inconclusive Kogi State governorship election last Saturday, Audu Abubakar, Mohammed, has been nominated to replace his father.
Mohammed, 43, was selected by leaders of the party in Kogi East Senatorial District to replace his late father as the party’s governorship candidate in the supplementary poll expected to take place later in December 2015.
He was presented on Thursday after a meeting of leaders, stakeholders and delegates of the Kogi APC in Lokoja, the state capital.
This followed the announcement by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that the party can field another candidate to replace late Audu, who died on November 23, 2015, shortly after the election was declared inconclusive.
