DSS Invades Former DG’s Lagos Home
According to information reaching us, men of the Department of State Services, DSS, are in the home of their former Director General, Kayode Are.
Operatives of the country’s secret police stormed Are’s residence in Lagos on Wednesday in a bid to allegedly apprehend him.
As at the time of filing in this report, we could not confirm why his house was stormed by the organisation he once controlled.
Are is a retired Colonel in the Nigerian Army. He was appointed DG of the DSS by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and served from 1999 to 2007.
Before then, he was an officer in the Directorate of Military Intelligence, DMI, and was retired by late General Sani Abacha. In 2010, he briefly served as the National Security Adviser.
