Judgment has been reserved in an appeal filed by the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, challenging his removal by an election petitions tribunal.
Justice Dongban Memsem of a Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday ruled that judgment date of the case would be communicated to parties involved in the appeal.
She said, “Ruling on all motions raised by the parties and judgment is hereby reserved. The date will be communicated to all parties,”
While counsel to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the election, Dakuku Peterside, Akinlolu Olujimi (SAN), urged the court to dismiss the appeal, that of Wike, Emmanuel Ukala (SAN) asked the court to grant the appeal.
The Justice Suleiman Ambursa’s led tribunal nullified the election of Wike and ordered INEC to conduct a re-run election within 90 days.
