It’s Absurd To Call Me Orji's Boy–Ohuabunwa

Embattled lawmaker representing Abia North senatorial district, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has declined himself from the news making the rounds that former governor of Abia State, T.A Orji is his political godfather.

Ohuabunwa made this known in an interview with Family Love FM in Abia State.

The legislator, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, wondered why he would be described as Orji’s political son.

According to him, such news is disrespecting to his personality.

“How can it be imagined by a reasonable and well informed person? I came out on my own to contest, because I saw the need to serve. Ochendo is my junior, and in fact, he got blessings from me before vying. I supported his ambition, and as well gave him all that was needed to succeed.

“It pains me till this moment that after serving for eight years, he has nothing to show for it. I sincerely plead with the people of the State, especially my constituents in Abia North to please forgive PDP under the government of Ochendo for the wasteful years he spent as an administrator. This time, we will lead the change in bettering our place,” he said.

Few days into the end of last year, a Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri, headed by Justice G. Mbaba, nullified Ohuabunwa’s election and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct a fresh poll within 90 days.
