Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mohammed Haliru, on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, appeared in court on a wheelchair.
Haliru is facing trial over allegation of aiding the diversion of funds meant for arms procurement by the Office of the National Security Adviser in the immediate past government of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
He was said to have committed the alleged crime along with his son, Abbah. They are being arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a four-count charge.
The arraignment of the accused was on December 30, 2015, stalled at a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja due to ill-health.
When the former PDP boss showed up in court today, he appeared on a wheelchair.
Abbah was said to have received the sum of N600 million from Dasuki’s office on behalf of BAM Projects & Properties Limited, an Abuja-based company.
