On Sunday, January 10, 2016, the paramount ruler of Peremabiri community in Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State popularly known as ‘progress never die’ was shot by an unknown gunman.
The monarch was said to have suffered a bullet shot during a fracas that broke out in the community between his supporters and that of a popular youth leader in the area.
His body was covered with blood and he was quickly attended to by sympathizers before being taken away in an ambulance.
Reports reaching us show that the wounded traditional ruler is responding to treatment at the hospital, where he was rushed to on Sunday. He may soon be discharged, if information revealed to us is to be believed.
