Barely 24 hours after a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ordered the arrest of former Niger Delta militant, Government Ekpemupolo, better known as Tompolo, some suspected hoodlums blew up strategic pipelines in Warri South West local government area of Delta State.
Tompolo failed to show up in court on Thursday when he was supposed to appear before it to answer charges of fraud levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
On Friday morning, there was tension in Warri after the militants suspected to be loyal to Tompolo bombed the government facilities at Gbaramatu kingdom in Delta State.
Multiple explosions were heard around oil installations between Ikpokpo and Odidi flow stations. The attack, which started shortly before midnight, was said to have lasted till the early hours of the day.
