I Was Never Told To Refund Money–Falae

Olu-Falae
Foremost Elder statesman, Olu Falae, said on Sunday that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, did not order him to return the N100 million he collected from former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Tony Anenih as being speculated.

Falae, who is the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, made this known while reacting to reports that he was told to do so like the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Jafaru Isa, who refunded N100 million to the EFCC after he was arrested for a similar crime.

Falae was indicted in the $2.1 billion funds meant for the purchase of arms for the military fighting insurgents in the north-east by the last administration of Goodluck Jonathan, which was diverted for other usages.

The said money was allegedly mis-appropriated by the immediate National Security Adviser to Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki.

But in a chat with Punch on Sunday, Falae said, “The PDP gave me money and I gave the money to the SDP, which has confirmed receipt of the money. No one has asked me to return any money.”

He further said, “I did not tell anyone that I was asked to return the money. The reports showed great bias towards me.”
