A well-known political thug in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, Alhaji Bayo Ajia, was on Tuesday murdered by some unknown hoodlums.
It was gathered that about four men stormed the deceased’s workshop on Tuesday evening, kidnapped him and took him close to the State Stadium complex in the city, where he operated a car wash.
He was said to have been shot on his forehead by his abductors before hacking his body several times with machetes and leaving his lifeless body on the ground.
Ajia was later buried on Tuesday evening according to Islamic rites. He is survived by four wives and many children.
In 2004, the deceased was sentenced to death by an Ilorin High Court over a murder case. However, his sentence was affirmed by the Supreme Court after appealing it. But the immediate past government of Kwara State granted his pardon.
