Bomb Blast Rocks Adamawa Crowded Market

A very busy market in Gombi town in Adamawa State has been hit by a bomb explosion, Daily Trust reports.

It was said that a boy detonated his suicide vest at the market on Friday and several people are believed to lost their lives in the process.

Daily Trust reports that a vigilante leader in the state confirmed the incident to it in a telephone interview.

However, military authorities at the 23 Armoured Brigade in Yola were not immediately available for comments on the said incident.

Gombi was recaptured from Boko Haram in 2014 and since then, the insurgents have made several failed attempts to retake the town from the Nigerian military.
