Several persons were reportedly killed over the weekend in Borno State in an attack allegedly carried out by Boko Haram sect.
More than 80 people were believed to have been killed by the terrorists in Dalori village, about 5km from the state capital, Maiduguri.
Many corpses were said to have littered the streets, while several houses were razed down by the attackers, who reportedly dressed in military uniform.
According to reports, several children were also killed by the Boko Haram members, who stormed the community on motorcycles and trucks.
It was said that the insurgents wanted to clear everything in the village, but for the prompt intervention of the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole.
Meanwhile, corpses of the dead victims have been deposited at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and the Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri, while spokesman of Operation Lafiya Dole, Colonel Mustapha Anka, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that details of the attack would be released after the compilation of all reports emanating from the scene.
