Arms Deal: Obaigbena Returns N350m To EFCC

According to a report by Punch, there were indications that the Publisher of ThisDay Newspaper, Nduka Obaigbena, on Tuesday returned the sum of N350 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

It was said that the flamboyant media mogul is expected to pay an outstanding N200 million next week to the Commission.

Obaigbena’s ThisDay and other newspapers were named as beneficiaries in the $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms allegedly diverted by Sambo Dasuki, the immediate past National Security Adviser, NSA.

Other media organisations implicated in the share have since been returning theirs.

Obaigbena was questioned by the EFCC on January 29, 2016 for allegedly collecting the sum of N670 million, but he was allowed to go after 24 hours.

He was said to have signed an undertaking to make a refund of the money in two weeks, which elapses next Tuesday.
