Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, Mohammed Bello, has been removed from office.
Bello was ejected from the position on Wednesday by the BoT.
Secretary of the PDP BOT, Walid Jibril, announced the removal of Bello in Abuja at a meeting with newsmen.
Jibril, who will also act as Chairman in addition to his responsibilities as Party Secretary, noted that Bello’s removal was because his tenure as Chairman had expired.
He explained that Bello was elected to the position of PDP BOT Chairman for only three months and that he had overstayed the period given to him.
“The BOT unanimously appointed Jibril as the Acting Chairman while still remaining as the substantive BOT secretary,” Jibril said.
It would be recalled that Bello is one of those alleged to have shared money from the Sambo Dasuki’s $2.1 billion arms scandal.
Bello was accused of receiving about N300 million from Dasuki during the general election in 2015.
