Students of the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, on Wednesday, took to streets adjourning their school to protest the death of one of their colleagues.
The situation caused tension in the area, especially vehicular gridlock.
It was gathered that the demonstrators were angered by the demise of a female HND 2 student of the Department of Office Technology and Management at the school medical centre.
According to the students, the lady breathed her last at about 4am after the officials of the school medical centre allegedly refused to treat her.
However, the school denied this allegation.
It was said that the hospital officials demanded for the sum of N35,000 to commence her treatment, which her colleagues could not provide.
The angry students locked the gate of the school during the demonstration.
