Former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, has been remanded in Kuje Prison in Abuja after he appeared in court on Monday.
Moro was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday before Justice Anwuli Chikere over the N650 million Nigeria Immigration Service recruitment scandal in 2014, where several job seekers lost their lives during the exercise.
At the hearing, Moro and two other persons were accused of being involved in the mess.
However, they pleaded not guilty to the 11-count charge read to them.
After their pleas, the prosecuting counsel, Aliyu Yusuf, urged the court to fix a date for trial and as well order the accused to be kept in prison custody.
Responding, the trial judge only granted bail to a nursing mother, while Moro and one other suspected were remanded in prison.
Justice Chikere then adjourned the matter to Thursday, March 3, 2016, for hearing on the application.
