According to a report by Vanguard, the recently freed abducted 14-year-old Bayelsa-born girl, Ese Oruru, is already carrying a child of her alleged lover-turned kidnapper, Yunusa Dahiru, fondly called Yellow.
It would be recalled that Ese was released in Kano on Tuesday after she was abducted in Bayelsa State in August 2015.
Vanguard reports that Ese wore a white Hijab to the Police headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday to cover her pregnancy, which was getting noticeable.
The paper depended on a “very reliable sources” for its report. It was said that the physical condition and looks of the girl created a suspicion when she arrived Abuja from Kano, where the police rescued her on Monday.
“It was the condition in which Police authorities discovered about Ese that informed the IGP, Solomon Arase’s directive that she should be handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit and later, a team from the Medical Department of the Force to carry out a comprehensive medical examination of the girl-child at the Police Medical Facility in Area 1, Garki,” Vanguard reports.
Meanwhile, Arase has directed the Bayelsa State Police Command to take over investigation of the matter because the alleged offence was committed in the state and the suspect will now be transferred to Bayelsa for interrogation and prosecution for kidnapping and child abuse as well as violence against a girl-child.
