No Ethnic Clash in Ogere—Police

Ogun State Police Command has debunked rumours that there is a civil unrest in a part of the state, Ogere precisely.

There have been reports that some Hausa and Yoruba indigenes were engaged in a clash in the small town of Ogun State.

Some speculated that it was a spill over of a similar crisis in Ketu area of Lagos State on Thursday.

But spokesman of the Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement obtained by Aproko247, described the news as “baseless and not true.”

Adejobi said in the statement that “the Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali has therefore urged members of the general public to disregard the rumour and go about their lawful businesses as we have peace in Ogun State.”

He added that “all hands have been on deck to maintain the peaceful coexistence we enjoy in the state.”

It would be recalled that the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun was in the town yesterday on his way to Ibadan, where he helped in controlling traffic.
