The Rivers State House of Assembly has reportedly okayed Justice Iyayi Laminkara as Chief Judge of the state.
It was reported that the Assembly session was presided over by the Speaker, Dobotorudima Adams, and nine other lawmakers.
The latest development may spur another controversy between the Judiciary and Legislature in the state.
There were issues raised during her screening by the Assembly as regards if nine out of the 32 members of the Assembly can form a quorum to carry-out any legislative duty.
But despite that, the Assembly cleared Justice Laminkara after it got a request letter from Governor Nyesom Wike, seeking her clearance.
Justice Laminkara now awaits her confirmation as the substantive Chief Judge of Rivers State by the governor.
