The Fedearal Government, on Thursday, March 10, 2016, commissioned the veterinary complex and state-of-the-art dog breeding centre at Deidei in Abuja.
The commissioning was performed by the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau.
The dog breeding centre is for the Nigeria Police and it is hoped to be used to fight crime in the country.
Also at the occasion were the House of Representatives’ Committee Chairman on Police Affairs, Haliru Jika; and the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.
Others were Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Sir Mike Okiro; and representatives of Chief of Army Staff, Comptroller General of Immigration, Commandant of the General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The Minister, during his speech, said the government of President Muhammadu Buhari was poised to fighting crime in the country.
He urged the police to ensure that the centre is utilised.
Awards were presented at the event to some personalities.
