27 Killed, 125 Wounded In Turkey’s Blast
No fewer than 27 people were killed when a bomb-laden vehicle exploded on Sunday evening in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Officials of the country said about 125 persons were wounded in the centrally located Kizilay neighbourhood, near a major transport hub.
It was reported that the explosion set vehicles on fire and heavily damaged several buses.
However, police have cordoned off the area and no group has yet claimed responsibility.
“Insecurity and instability now is the new dynamic in Turkish politics and in society.
“Both of the last two attacks happened before the summit between the EU and Turkey, so I suspect that the group that carried out these attacks was seeking maximum publicity not just in Turkey but in the outside world to make it clear that Turkey is insecure and unstable place,” a Turkey expert and associate fellow at Chatham House, Fadi Hakura, told Al Jazeera.
