About 17 ships laden with petroleum products are expected to get to Lagos through the Apapa and Tin Can Islands from today, Monday, March 14, 2016.
The arrival of the ships with the petroleum product will sooth Nigerians, who have been suffering scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol.
The ships are also carrying food items like buck wheat, bulk sugar and other goods.
Some of these include diesel, steel products, containers, bulk charcoal, petrol and Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK) and they would be in Lagos from March 14 to March 23.
This information was disclosed by the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA’s, publication, ‘Shipping Position’.
Eighteen other ships are at the ports discharging general cargoes, bulk sugar, rice, aviation fuel, bulk fertiliser, frozen fish, diesel and petrol, while eight ships had already arrived the ports, waiting to berth with petrol, base oil and aviation fuel.
