It would be recalled that Gen Mahmood died in an accident last week on the Damaturu-Maiduguri road.

Speaking shortly after taking over on Thursday at a ceremony in Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri, Irabor appealed to his staff officers, commanders, front line troops as well as members of the host community and the media to give him maximum cooperation to quickly mop up Boko Haram militants and celebrate the victory against insurgency in the country.
