Some policemen deployed to provide security at the election rerun in Rivers State on March 19, 2016, have been involved in a road mishap, reports say.
According to reports, the police contingent travelling to the South-South had an accident, but escaped death by whiskers.
It was learnt that not less than 100 cops, who were drafted from the Ondo State Police Command for the Rivers rerun were involved in the auto crash.
The policemen travelling in police truck with registration number NPF 5205 C collided with another truck carrying cows along the East-West road near Akala-Olu community in Rivers state.
Not less than five cows died at the scene of the incident while several policemen sustained various degrees of injuries.
