Personnel of the Nigerian Army have dealt a huge blow on members of the dreadful terrorists group called Boko Haram.
Also, more than a dozen persons held hostage by the sect were rescued by the Nigerian troops fighting the insurgents in Borno State.
Troops of the 151 Task Force Battalion, 21 Brigade further cleared remnants of Boko Haram terrorists from three villages in Iza general area.
During the operation, some weapons used by the sect were recovered from their hideouts and camps.
The villages cleared by the Nigerian Army were Mballeri, Shuari 1 and Shuari 2.
It was gathered that a total number of 18 persons were precisely freed from the captivity of the terrorists.
They comprised of two men, seven women and nine children. The rescued persons have been moved to the Brigade’s headquarters for further screening and care.
It was gathered that one Civilian JTF accompanying the troops felt off a vehicle and sustained some injuries.
He has however since been evacuated to the unit’s Regimental Aid Post for medical treatment and he is in stable condition.
