President Muhammadu Buhari is already in Washington DC, where he is attending the 4th Nuclear Security Summit on March 31, 2016.
The President hopes to use the summit to improve the economy of Nigeria and interact with other world leaders who would be at the programme.
Buhari was welcomed by Minister of Defence, Monsur Dan Ali; Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu; DG National Intelligence Agency, Amb. Ayodele Oke; Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora, Hon. Abike Dabiri and DG Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Prof. L.A. Dim.
This year’s programme focuses on terrorism threat and President of the United States, Barak Obama is expected to address other world leaders.
The Nuclear Security Summit will provide a forum for leaders to engage each other and discuss the highest levels to securing nuclear materials.
The summit is aimed at preventing nuclear terrorism around the globe.
The first Nuclear Security Summit was held in Washington, DC in 2010, and was followed by additional Summits in Seoul in 2012 and The Hague in 2014.
