Owner of Ifeanyi Ubah FC, Ifeanyi Ubah, has been given 10-match ban by the League Management Company, LMC, the organisation in charge of the Nigerian league.
The Capital Oil boss was banned was allegedly hitting the goalkeeper of Heartland FC, Ebele Obi, who is related to Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi.
The billionaire businessman was caught on camera assaulting the player during a Nigeria Premier League game between his club and Heartland FC.
The LMC also fined him N2.5 million and said the ban is probational till the end of the present season.
Ubah was fined by the LMC for encroaching the field of play and also assaulting an opposing player.
A statement by the LMC said ““Ifeanyi Ubah, proprietor of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, is suspended from all NPFL match venues for the next 10 matches.
“He has now been fined N2.5m because LMC found him guilty of encroaching field of play and assaulting Heartland player Ebele Obi.
“The fabled billionaire is expected to offer a letter of apology and an undertaking to be a good ambassador of the NPFL.
“The LMC further bans all self- procured security services other than those sanctioned by the LMC from all NPFL match venues henceforth.”
The statement concluded that the oil and gas guru has till “5pm on Saturday to appeal this decision if he objects the ruling.”
