In preparation for its national convention, overall rebuilding and repositioning of the party for 2019, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced the inauguration of four committees.
In a statement signed by National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Mustapha, the PDP said it will do everything possible to give the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, a run for its money.
The four special committees were constituted by the National Chairman of the party, Ali Modu-Sheriff, in line with the decision of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the party.
The four committees are; National Convention Committee, Finance Committee, Reconciliation Committee and the Zoning Committee.
According to the statement, the National Convention Committee, which comprises 108 party members, has Govornor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State as Chairman, Governor Darius Ishiaku as the Deputy Chairman, Governor Dave Umahi as Secretary 1 and Ahmed Gulak as Secretary 2.
In the Finance Committee which has 41 members, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo is the Chairman, Senator Godswill Akpabio as the Deputy Chairman, while Leo Ogor is the Secretary.
For the Reconciliation Committee with 38 persons, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson is the Chairman, Senator Ibrahim Mantu as Deputy Chairman, while Senator Joshua Lidani as Secretary.
The Zoning Committee with 70 members has Governor Emmanuel Udom as Chairman, Governor Ayo Fayose as Deputy Chairman, while Kelechi Igwe is the Secretary.
The statement said all Chairmen and members of the four committees are “cordially invited for inauguration on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2.00 pm prompt at the PDP National Secretariat (Wadata Plaza), Abuja.”
